Sponsorship Support

Guidelines and Eligibility

The International Association of New Haven will consider, on a limited basis, an event sponsorship request to support an activity or a program. Sponsorships are up to $1,000.

  • The organization must be located in the Greater New Haven area.  (This area includes Bethany, Branford, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, Wallingford, West Haven, and Woodbridge.)
  • The organization or their fiscal sponsor must be tax exempt under IRS code section 501(c)3.

Sponsorship applications have a rolling deadline of two weeks prior to four scheduled International Association's Board meetings.

We are pleased to share this select list of recently awarded sponsorships: 

Ø Worthington Hooker School PTA to support an annual Black History Month Celebration featuring student and cultural performances representing various regions of Africa and the Caribbean.

Ø Yale-China Association for its annual Lunar New Year celebration for over 3000 participants, featuring a parade in the morning and various cultural activities and workshops in the afternoon with multiple community organizations and artists.

Ø The Yale Peabody Museum for its annual Fiesta Latina collaboration with Junta for Progressive Action and the New Haven Free Public Library.  Free activities involving science, performance, and hands-on projects are designed to celebrate the richness of Hispanic culture.

Ø Horizons at Foote summer program to contribute to its Fiesta de Arte, a celebration of Latine arts, crafts, and dance.

Ø  Broken Umbrella Theatre partnering with City Seed/Sanctuary Kitchen to produce “Family Business (A) Pizza Play” celebrating the history of food culture in New Haven through themes of family, immigration, and assimilation.

Ø Elm Shakespeare Company in collaboration with IRIS (Integrated Refugee and Immigration Services) to support its Building a Brave New Theatre series themed “Shakespeare in Translation” which explored the many ways Shakespeare’s works resonate across languages, cultures, and disciplines.

ØThe New Haven Free Public Library to support its annual Mardi Gras fundraiser planned to raise funds for critical needs such as resources for newly arrived residents and support for multilingual children.

Ø he New Haven Leon Sister City Project to support its celebration of its 40th anniversary with events featuring speakers, performers, and art works.

Ø Vivan Las Autonomas, fiscally sponsored by A Better Way Foundation, to support an arts festival and fundraiser featuring 10 performers and 10 visual artists, many of whom are immigrant women artists.  The funds were raised to support victims of gender-based violence and their families.

Ø Church Street Alliance for Family Engagement PTA to support a family night with an International Festival theme and highlighting the various cultures represented in the school with traditional foods, cultural objects, art, and music.

Ø The New Haven Documentary Film Festival to support its international film screenings, most at the New Haven Free Public Library. 

Ø Common Ground High School for its annual Feast from the Fields, with local chefs sharing dishes from around the world, including Guatemala, Iraq, and Italy.
